Summer Favourites – Things I’ve been loving this summer
26th August 2020
It’s been a while since i’ve done a good old fashioned favourites so I thought I’d put one together for you guys! I’ve been loving lots over the last month and summer so this was sooo hard to round up. My summer favourites change every year but these are definitely things I’m going to stick with as we move on into winter; maybe except the dresses!
Beauty products are the most common thing in my summer favourites as these are what I use the most! I change up my beauty products pretty often but these are the ones that have stuck all summer long.
Tarte Eyeshadow Palette
The Tartelette Flirt Eyeshadow Palette is one that I bought a couple of years ago that’s ended up at the back of the draw. I never used it a lot but I’ve found I’v been reaching for it a lot more over summer! It contains 6 eyeshadows, 2 shimmery and 4 matte and they’re lovely warm shades. Perfect warm browns and bronze tones for summer! I find it’s a really easy to use palette as you don’t have to worry about needing any other colours; the look is there ready for you! Tarte eyeshadows have always been a fave of mine as they work so well. This has a firm spot in my summer favourites and a staple all year round!
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturiser is a new product to me so it’s really impressive to end up in my summer favourites so quickly! This moisturiser has been perfect on my skin and I use it everyday because it’s worked wonders. My skin isn’t normally that dry over summer but being inside all day everyday hasn’t helped; definitely lacking vitamin D this year! It is however slightly scented but that doesn’t bother me. It’s a very lightweight so I’m not sure it’ll be rich enough into winter but for summer it’s been perfect!
Bubble T Shower Gel
Also with a firm spot in my summer favourites are the shower gels from Bubble T Cosmetics*. These were very kindly gifted to me as part of their Soapscription service and I love them! I’ve previously wrote a blog post all about Soapscription, how it works and why you need it so check that out. I’ve put this in my summer favourites as the scents have just been so fun and refreshing, perfect for summer! My favourites include Mango and Lime or Salted Caramel. They’re so so affordable too so you really can’t go wrong!
There’s definitely been a few items that I’ve been wearing constantly over the last couple of months but I’ve narrowed it down for my summer favourites!
I’ve been really loving smock dresses these last couple of months as they’re sooo so comfy. In particular New Look have had some really lovely dresses in that are really affordable. I love this dress as the style and colours are really similar to the ones i’ve been wearing! Smock dresses are the perfect way to feel a little more done up whilst still being comfortable. You can dress them up with heels or down with some trainers so perfect for any occasion. I’m hoping to be able to transition into autumn with them by pairing with tights and some chunky boots. So as much as they’re part of my summer favourites I’m hoping I can drag them out a little longer!
I feel like Vans are a staple for quite a lot of people! I’ve had so much use out of mine these last couple of months so I had to include them. Like nearly everyone else on the planet I own a pair of Old Skools; they honestly go with everything! I feel like you really can’t go wrong and I had to show my appreciation for them. They are a little pricey but so comfy and they last forever, I can’t recommend more!
Thought I’d add in a little ‘other’ section just to cover the other random bits i’ve been loving! I love these bits on other peoples favourites posts so I had too!
Since Hamilton came out on Disney+ I’ve been obsessed! I’m constantly listening to the soundtrack and I love it. The songs are brilliant and the show itself was something else. I’d really recommend watching it as it’s unlike any show I’ve ever seen! It’s on my list now of must see shows and I think it’s probably the same for anyone else who watches it! As much as this has made it on too my summer favourites its something I’m going to continue loving. Determined to learn every word to the soundtrack one day!
So everyone and their mum has watched Friends over and over again but this last month I’ve really got back in to it! I’ve had it on constantly in the background because it’s just perfect to unwind too. I really don’t think I need to go into much detail on this because everyone knows how good Friends is! Going into autumn its the perfect cosy day tv show.
What have been some of your favourites over summer? I’d love to know if you leave them down below!
